New screenshots 21/12/11

Well we're getting closer to Christmas, which means more working and less procrastination. Why? Because I plan to have the first release of Pixel Dirt out by then! Hooray! Aaaaaand screenies:

The big decision

I've decided to use this as my "active" site, where I post news, pictures and videos regularly, while my Yola site will have main pages for contact, about me, and the game pages etc. So I'm going to get a lot more active with my posts, so expect far more content!

Remember to follow this blog, which means I'll be far more motivated to get lot's of shiny new things posted!

Some new Apocalyptic screenshots...

A simple building built from several wall blocks. Note the info bar below now has cash info, instead of Wood and Food which is now completely in the Inventory. Oh yes, and the Work Station is almost working.

The shiny new inventory. Is working to a point that it's easy to add new items. Next come the metal based objects, such as building Weapon Benches and other things... with... metal... in them.

Reality check...

Alright, I've started getting this page out and about, so I figure I should get back to updating it. Technical Byte Games has evolved much since our last visit to this cobweb covered website. So lets get down to buisiness.

Can Stargotchi, by the way. That was an accident just waiting to happen. Anyway, we've got ourselves set on a major next project- Apocalyptic, a top down monochromatic sandbox zombie survival game. That was a mouth full.

And to prove that we're not chickening out again, we have a page up for it here:
http://www.moddb.com/games/apocalyptic

We HAVE been working on it for a fair while now. And we are working towards the first release, but we want it to at least work before 0.1. We will be doing some epic news sharing on the blog, so stay tuned!

Oh yes, did I mention we've hired a graphics artist? That means the game will be barable to play.

Stargotchi Ship List (Alpha)

Here's a early list of the ships that are going to be in Stargotchi (player owned). I've left out the bonus ones, and also there may be unique ships that you can engage in combat. Erm. Well, still prototyping here anyway... giant list: assemble!

As you can see, there's going to be mixed ships from tons of different sci fi series. I'm hoping there will be excitement in pitting a Star Destroyer against the Enterprise.

Stargotchi

The current "main" projects of Technical Byte Games are:
- Epic Universe V1
- Apocalyptic

I've also been working on an odd side project- this is going to sound weird, so bear with me. Stargotchi takes a little bit of virtual PC tamagotchi like pets, progress quest and a few other things to create something horribly unique. Stargotchi is a small application that is designed to run over your other projects and work. It operates in a similar fashion to a virtual pet, except it isn't one. The "pet" is in fact a star ship, accompanied by your captain. You start with a small shuttle, and your captain will gain ranks to get bigger and better ships. There is going to be tons of variety in the ships- start from X-Wings, TIE fighters, Star Trek shuttles and move to Star Destroyers, Death Stars, Galaxy class cruisers, and tons of other ships. There will be combat, training and basically it will operate like a virtual pet- except you maintain a dynamic starship. Sound weird? Sure, only time will tell if the concept works.

Welcome to the THIRD Technical Byte Games website...

Alright, nobodies really heard of Technical Byte Games. Yet. I mean, come on, we're still working on our first release. So I figured I'll take down the actual web page for now and settle on a blog. I believe it suits better then a website, and is far more simple. So... uh, welcome!
